The Eachine Cinecan is small cinewhoop for record video in 4K, by using the Caddx Tarsier and power up via 1103 motors and 3S LIPO.
If you are looking for a quad that you could put anywhere, safe and with a good video recording capabilities, the Eachine Cinecan is probably one of the best at the moment.
I reviewed it in different modes, in a led race track, by night and like a classical cinewhoop. The idea of this drone is really not to do freestyle or tiny race, even if it is really possible, but to record video with a good quality anywhere.
The quad is pretty light for 63g without a LIPO, compatible with FrSky, FlySky, TBS crossfire or without any receiver to plug yours.
The frame is a 85mm wheelbase. It is pretty strong plastic and I have not been able to break it with small crashes, so it will handle many LIPO.
Moreover you can add a tiny led in the back, so perfect if you flight with others peoples 😉
The canopy is specically designed to handle the Caddx Tarsier, due to 2 cameras. The plastic is good too and the only drawback is how it is attached to the frame. I don’t like how it is done, it seems fragile, specially in the front of the canopy, if you break it you will have jello probably.
The propellers are the EMAX Avan 2 inch and I’m not sure you will find better props of this size at the moment. They are strong, efficient and not fragile at all.
The crazybee F4 pro V3.0 is the latest AIO board from Happymodel and it works pretty well. This board can handle 12A for 2-4S LIPO. So with the motors they choosed and the default 3S LIPO, you will avoid any problems.
I have not seen any reports of problems with this board, so stay tuned.
The motors are HappyModel 1103 7000KV that suppot 2-4S. They are using an 1.5mm shift and the weight is 3.7g each. For me they are pretty efficient, smooth and cheap !
But these motors are fragile, specially the wire. But with the ducts of the frame you will probably not get this problem.
The Caddx Tarsier is a 4K camera and it is pretty good ! I like the FOV and the color of the camera.
I was curious to test it after seeing reviews on how it is difficult to use it. But clearly it is not the case. This camera provides a WIFI connection with your mobile phone by installing the dedicated app on the store for Android. The only thing to do is to maintain the button during a long time to see the green light on the board. After that you will be able to connect to the caddx wireless point of access, and you will have directly the live screen, your record, and all settings of the camera (video quality etc).
Moreover I don’t get any jello during my record (check the videos at the top).
Moreover you have an ND filter that you MUST use if you have a little bit of sun, it will improve drastically the record video. Not sure why they added the ND filter on the camera too, maybe it was much more simple, but it is useless, but it was not a problem for me during flights.
The VTX support 25/200mw and it is a classic one from HappyModel. It works great and you can use smartaudio to configure all settings.
You can experience different type of flying if you which but it is really designed to do some cinematic images everywhere. The only thing to do is to bind your radio with it. For FrSky you need to go to BetaFlight and write ‘bind_rx_spi’ in the CLI, that’s all.
You will not push the throttle at all by recording such videos but this tinywhoop can if you want.
Personnaly I like it, it flights well and the quality of the video is really good.
One more time Eachine is doing a good job with the box:
- a good case to protect the drone
- spare props
- a 3S 300mah LIPO
- screwdriver etc
- all tools to access the camera settings
- a simple guide to setup your quad
Where to buy ?
Mainly banggood right now is selling this drone, and I have some deals/coupons for it if you wish:
As usual with Eachine, the spare parts will be available during a long time, here few:
