Foxeer did a new 14×14 mm camera specially for the Toothpick/Tinywhoop wave. Is it good ? Let’s see !!
The weight of this camera ~4.90g, so it is more than the similar camera (like the caddx eos2 is 3.5g). The delay of the camera is 4ms so it is really good if you have some race flight.
- Model: Predator 4 Nano
- Multi-mode: Day/Night/LED/B&W
- Switch shortcut
- 4ms low letency
- 4-25V input
- Low Noise
- Remote control
In the box you will find:
- 1x Foxeer Predator 4 Nano Camera
- 1x Bracket
- 1x Servo cable
- 1x 2pin OSD cable
- 1x OSD Board
- 1x Manual
- 4x (M2x6) Bracket Screws
- 4x (M2x4) Screws
- 2x Case Screws
I have been impressed by the quality of the camera after multiple months by using Caddx EOS2 or the runcam nano/racer. I mean, these cameras are really good compared to a cheap one that we have often with BNF toothpick/tinywhoop. But the Foxeer Predator Nano 4 is really in the high category now.
The quality of the image is really far from others (see the video at the top), you will have much more details and it is realy clear. Moreover it handles very well the day/light change, I did multiples tests and I have notice any problem.
The multi mode switching is also need to have now because it will allows you (via the remote control or you can control the camera via the OSD directly with latest FC) to have predefined mode:
The LED is really usefull specially if you are doing some race events (and 4ms delay !).
So it is definitevely the best camera to get for your toothpick/tinywhoop now if you are ready to accept a little bit more weight and size too (20mm and 23mm with the connector from back to top), and of course to paid a little bit more. Because the price is around 36$ it is not small investment for a build like a tinywhoop or toothpick, but be sure that you will be able to use it in other builds too !!
