But when I got it and tested it, I was really impressed ! This quad is really amazing with the stock settings and propellers.
I did two videos, one outdoor and indoor to show you how it rip without any modification:
If you flight outdoor or indoor (with a little bit of space :)), for racing or freestyle, this is the pocket quad to get right now for this winter probably.
I like the fact that this BNF is provided also with TBS Crossfire supports because it match perfectly with what kind of flights, specially outdoor, where you need a reliable radio connection to use.
But this quad is also provided with FrSky (D8, R-XSR, XM+), FlySky, DMS2/DSMX.
With 50g, this quad is designed to be used mainly 3S LIPO but if you are to shy, you can use 2S 🙂
The frame is a new design from HappyModel. It is a 100mm wheelbase, 3mm carbon specially for 11XX motors from HappyModel. The frame is really strong due probqbly to the design and with 1103 motors provided it is quite impossible to break it. Moreover you will have enough spaces to access to the motors and USB.
This frame fits only for AIO FC (25×25) so be sure if you use it for another build to have an AIO FC.
A negative point is how you will secure the LIPO. By default the foam strip provided is useless and you will need to use another one like this one from URUAV.
Between the FC and the VTX, you should add some foam:
or a insulating TPU piece to avoid any damage or burn the FC/VTX during a crash. Happymodel released an example here.
The canopy is good too, and it will protect correctly the a 14×14 camera like the Runcam Nano 2 in this build. It is a sort of plastic, probably the same as used in the cinecan or the UR65, so really good quality and not easy to break.
HappyModel provided this quad with two differents props randomly:
I got the HQPROP that I never test in the past, and they are a good combo with this quad. The props grip really well in corner and you will not have the feelingthat your quad is floating, so really good for indoor racing.
The crazybee F4 pro V3.0 is the latest AIO board from Happymodel and it works pretty well. This board can handle 12A for 2-4S LIPO. So with the motors they choosed and the default 3S LIPO, you will avoid any problems.
I have not seen any reports of problems with this board, so stay tuned.
The motors are HappyModel 1103 7000KV that suppot 2-4S. They are using an 1.5mm shift and the weight is 3.7g each. For me they are pretty efficient, smooth and cheap !
But these motors are fragile, specially the wire. But the frame is protected them pretty well.
They decided to use the Runcam Nano 2 in this build and it was a good choice. This camera is pretty efficient and light. They pick up the 2.1mm.
The VTX is really nice (25/200mW), specially to have the ability to record the DVR directly onboard so the IMAGE will be really nice and without glitch. See my review of this one.
As usual HappyModel provided spare parts in the default box:
- 1X Larva X frame
- 1X Crazybee FC AIO
- 4X 1103 KV7000 motor
- 4X Micro Avan Rush Propeller 2.5 Inch ( 4 CW & 4 CCW)
- 1X Runcam Nano2 Camera
- 1X 5.8G 25-200mW VTX
- 1X Propeller disassemble tool
- 1X Screwdriver
As I said I have been really impressed by this drone, specially with the default settings as you could see in my video.
For the choose of the 3S LIPO, GNB is probably the best at this moment, so you can pick up, you will have up to 3m30/4m it depends how you flight:
If you are still wondering if you need a BNF toothpick, micro drone for freestyle and racing, this is the one to get now.
Where to buy ?
You can get it on Banggood for less 100$:
