Review: HappyModel EX1103S 7000kv

HappyModel did a new version of their 1103 motors: the EX1103 7000kv.

This new motor has a new bell and is now compatible with all standard 11XX mouting motors hole pattern, the 9mm and 4 holes. So it is perfect to fit in classic frames.

According to HappyModel, these motors are more balance and efficient. It is super light with 3.8g and support up to 3S LIPO.

There is a dual bearing and really design to be used in Toothpick !

Moreover these motors are the default one in the LarvaX V2.

Flight

So I did a simple build with the new LarvaX frame too (support 4 motors mouting holes), super light build with 52g.

On 3S these motors are really great, super easy to flight with a lot of control in all range of the throttle.

They are really more smooth than the previous 1103 and really stronger (see the end of the video).

The price is really low for less than 10$, so really the less expensive motors if you need multiples or some spares.

  1. Thanks for the review, I plan to replace the 1103 10000kv on my Iflight 120rs (2S) with these, along with some Gemfan 2540 triblade instead of the 65mm HQ props biblade that it currently has.
The goal is to get a bit more thrust, we’ll see how it goes. I currently have a 70% throttle scale to see how it’ll handle (well, nearly) and it doesn’t see to lack punch (plus, better battery life of course).

Now I have a question : the 120RS arms are quite long, so do you know the length of the new EX1103S wires with plug ?

    Thank you !
