The Dolphin 4inch is really one of the best 4 inch toothpick that you could find right now.
- Flight Controller:GEP-20A-F4 AIO
- Camera: Caddx Turbo Eos2
- Motor to motor: 153mm
- Propeller:HQ4*4.3*3 V1S (4 pairs)
- Antenna:RG178 5.8g RHCP
- Motor to motor:1507 3200KV
- Weight:136g without battery
- Receiver:Without Receiver/Frsky R-XSR / Frsky XM+
To be honest I found only ONE drawback of this drone: the camera. It is the CADDX EOS 2 which seems right now obsolete for me, but it super easy to change it.
So the first thing that I found really nice is the frame, it is a 153mm motors to motors frame (3K carbon), so for 4inch props indeed.
The frame is really well finished, with press nuts and 4mm removable arms and chamfered. Only 3 screws will be used for the motors. To protect the motors GEPRC added a big spike at the top of each arm (and it works well I got some crashed and it was well protected).
In the box GEPRC included all the necessary stuff to prepare your first flight. Some foam for the bottom of the frame to hold correctly the LIPO, spare straps … and tubes to protect the antennas of the receiver.
Of course they are provided the propellers which are the HQProp 4×4.3×3.
As you could see too, the antenna of the VTX is secured too via the canopy.
With 1507 3200kv and the global weight of the drone (136g), you have in your hands a tiny rocket. why ?
Because GEPRC used their 20 amp FC/ESC board, you can use 4S LIPO with these motors without ANY problems.
For a good list of 4S LIPO (I used 4S 650/850 mah), please check the following article:
I recorded a flight of the Dolphin 4inch, without any PID tuning, everything is in the stock configuration.
It is clearly a pure pleasure to use it, and it is SUPER fast. The only thing that you could change is probably the camera with a better one.
